I normally avoid writing these sort of things but recently I’ve started getting a lot more ‘asks’ than I used to and, since I’ve also recently discovered the ‘answer privately’ button, a lot of the same questions have been popping up over and over.  Now, please don’t get me wrong, I LOVE hearing from you lovely folk and I’m not trying to put anyone off saying hello and what not. I just thought I’d provide some basic background info to allow room for more interesting chitter chatter. After all, reality really is so boring ;)

About Me

I’m from Ireland, in my late twenties, engaged to my teenage sweetheart (aw), and a reporter for a local newspaper. I drink, on average, about one cup of tea an hour - and I mean real ‘Irish’ tea, not that poncy herbal stuff - and I smoke far too much.

With regard to the written word I’m addicted to fantasy fiction, however when it comes to TV and film I tend to be more of a sci-fi sort of gal. On the music front I’m still stuck in the nineties, with Radiohead and The Smashing Pumpkins sharing the number one spot on a seemingly infinite list of favourites.

I’m at my happiest while dandering and daydreaming, taking photos, or painting pictures that would embarrass a five-year-old. My favourite foods include beans-on-toast, green jelly babies, and egg fried rice. Though not all at once, that would be horrible.

I have a pet cat called George who must be off on some really wonderful adventure because she hasn’t come home for over a year.

About The Blog

I first started a Tumblr because I’d heard a few of my friends over on Blogger singing its praises and thought I’d give it a wee go. Big mistake! I’ve been totally and hopelessly addicted ever since, much to the detriment of my original and ’proper’ blog. Tumblr is just too bloody handy and there’s just too much loveliness floating about it to resist! Plus, I don’t have to type as much here; I write enough during the rest of the day, it’s nice to give my fingers a break.

I tend to have a fifty/fifty mix of reblogs and stuff I found myself on the net. I always try to make sure to include the click through link and credit for the images I use. Similarly, I try to only reblog posts from other bloggers who do the same, though sadly that’s not always possible. Lack of appropriate accreditation on here is, to say the least, annoying. Especially since Tumblr makes it so darn easy to post things fairly! Anyway…

I also upload a lot of my own photos, usually either from my Flickr stream or my Blogger blog. Occasionally I’ll upload them direct. You’ll know them by their sub-standardness and source link.

Oh, and one last thing, I’ve had a lot of queries regarding my name/url. It’d take too long to explain, but basically it’s just the name of my blogspot where I explained it in my very first post. Anyone bored or curious enough can read it here.
